<br /> <br />MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY HALL <br />6801 Delmar Blvd. <br />City of University City, Missouri <br />March 11, 2013 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, <br />on Monday, March 11, 2013, Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron Price <br />Ms. Paulette Carr <br />Mr. Stephen Kraft <br />Mr. Terry Crow <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Glickert was excused. <br /> <br />Also in attendance was the City Manager Lehman Walker. <br /> <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Mr. Walker asked that the Plan Commission recommendation for the hours of operation <br />of the proposed trolley to be 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 A.M., 7 days a week. Any changes to <br />hours of operation would require a written approval from the Department of Community <br />Development. This item is under City Manager’s Report #1. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker also withdrew item #7 of his report, the liquor license for the Dollar General <br />Store. Staff is still in the process of reviewing the liquor license regulations. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch added LaTrice Johnson under Appointments. She is nominating Ms. <br />Johnson to the Library Board. The Mayor stated that all City Councilmembers received <br />Ms. Johnson’s application in their packets, but was inadvertently left off the agenda. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved for approval of the amended agenda, was seconded by Ms. Carr and <br />the amended agenda carried unanimously. <br /> <br />D. PROCLAMATIONS <br />Mayor Welsch presented a proclamation to Dr. Jamie Jordan, Principal of Brittany Woods <br />Middle School in honor of her being named the 2013 Middle School Principal of the Year <br />by the St. Louis Association of Secondary School Principals on March 11, 2013. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that Dr. Jordan would also represent Missouri in the 2014 <br />MetLife/National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Middle School Principal of <br />the Year and she would be a finalist on April 25, 2013, at a forum titled, “Leaders with <br />Great Practice” sponsored by Schools That Can. <br /> <br />Joylynn Pruitt, Superintendent of University City Schools, 8136 Groby Road <br />Ms. Pruitt thanked the City Council for recognizing Dr. Jordan and she stated that they <br />recently found out that Focus St. Louis would be recognizing the Brittany Woods Middle <br />School for the “What’s Right in the Region” award on May 2013, regarding all the work <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
