Please call (314) 505-8568 or email agutierrez@ucitymo.org to confirm your attendance. <br /> <br />AGENDA FOR THE MEETING <br /> <br />1. Welcome New Traffic Commission members - Chairperson Election <br /> <br />Please welcome Jeff Hales and Curtis Tunstall as new Traffic Commission members. Former Chairperson <br />Melcine Henderson is no longer part of this Commission; therefore a new Chairperson needs to be elected at <br />this meeting. Please see excerpt from the Traffic Commission Rules of Procedure that outlines the election <br />guidelines. <br />“Chairperson. The proceedings of the Commission shall be controlled by the chairperson. A chairperson shall <br />be elected for a term of one year by a majority of the Commission members at each September Commission <br />meeting. If a chairperson resigns prior to completion of such one year term, the Commission members shall <br />elect a new chairperson upon resignation of the current chairperson, which chairperson shall serve until a new <br />chairperson is elected at the following September Commission meeting. A chairperson may serve more than <br />one term and no more than two terms. <br />If the chairperson is absent from a Commission meeting, the Secretary shall appoint a temporary chairperson <br />to preside over such meeting.” <br /> <br />2. Traffic Safety on Ahern Ave, Wilshire Ave and Mount Olive Ave <br /> <br /> <br />Please find attached Traffic Request Form submitted on March 21, 2013 by Kelly & Matthew Fluharty, <br />residents at 7745 Ahern Avenue requesting that the Traffic Commission examine this issue and assist in <br />implementing some appropriate measures to minimize speeding and excessive traffic and eliminate the ability <br />to avoid the Olive Blvd. and North & South Ave. intersection by way of the Pearl Heights neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Fluharty request the following: <br /> <br />1) Block off the intersection of Mount Olive Ave. and Groby Rd. <br />2) Block off small access road between Olive Blvd. and Morgan Ave. This is to ensure that cut through <br />traffic that would typically access Olive Blvd. via Groby Rd. would not use this as an alternate route. <br />3) Post speed limit signage on Mount Olive Ave., Ahern Ave., Wilshire Avenue and/or Shaftsbury Ave. <br /> <br />The Police Department will provide comments at the meeting regarding speed data collected, accidents and <br />any other relevant information to address these concerns. <br /> <br />The Public Works and Parks Department completed the installation of appropriate speed limit signs at the <br />entrances of the Mount Olive Ave., Ahern Ave., Wilshire Avenue and Shaftsbury Ave streets. <br /> <br />The Public Works and Parks Department also requested that the Police Department monitor the area to check <br />www.ucitymo.org 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
