She said policy requires the action of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr encouraged anyone interested in planting perennials to come to U City in <br />th <br />Bloom’s plant sale on April 28. She noted that the Council listens to all petitions from <br />citizens even if they do not respond at that moment. <br /> <br />Mr. Price thanked the residents and parents who supported the school’s proposition <br />because it passed 70% to 30%. He wanted to thank them for moving in the right <br />direction. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe thanked Ms. Carter and her committee for their report on Seniors and Youth. <br />He said they did an outstanding job on their presentation. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that she has been working with some staff at the library to organize <br />some events related to the National Days of Remembrance. She said the U.S. Congress <br />set up the Days of Remembrance, which this year are April 7-14, to remember the <br />Holocaust and other more recent genocides in the hope that it would never happen <br />again. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that former University resident Sara Moses, who was one of the <br />youngest people liberated from the death camps in Europe after World War II, would <br />th <br />speak at University City Public Library on Wednesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. She said the <br />event was free and Ms. Moses would speak and then take questions. Mayor Welsch <br />stated she had arranged for Ms. Moses to speak to classes at University City High <br />School, Brittany Woods Middle School, and Christ the King Elementary School on Friday, <br />th <br />April 12. She said Torah Prep and Our Lady of Lourdes were not able to take part this <br />year, but hoped to work with us next year on this project. <br /> <br />th <br />Mayor Welsch stated that Tuesday, April 16, the Fair U City volunteers will meet and to <br />let her know if anyone would be interested in attending. She said the meeting would start <br />at 6 p.m. <br /> <br />th <br />Mayor Welsch said that on April 20 at 9 a.m. there will be a free health screening at the <br />Library, sponsored by Health Protection and Education Services. <br /> <br />Q.
