<br />3. <br />Fanny Houston was nominated for reappointment to the Board of Adjustment by Mr. <br />Price, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried unanimously. <br />4. <br />Anukriti Hittle was nominated for reappointment to the Urban Forestry Commission by <br />Mr. Kraft, was seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried unanimously. <br />5. <br />Carol Wofsey was nominated to the Traffic Commission by Mayor Welsch, seconded <br />by Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />G. SWEARING IN <br /> <br />H. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of 15 minutes allowed) <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert spoke on the swimming pool hours as detailed in the recreation guide. She <br />said it had back- to- school swim hours listed. Ms. Glickert noted that this was a Municipal <br />Pool and had nothing to do with the Board of Education or their hours. Ms. Glickert stated <br />the days the pool is open, according to the current schedule, will be ten days less than in <br />previous years. She asked the City Council to address this issue. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked Mr. Walker to clarify for Council when the pool was to be open and <br />closed later this summer so Council could discuss the issue at their next meeting. <br /> <br />I. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUBLIC HEARING - Zoning code, text amendment to Article 8 of the University City <br />Zoning Code, exception for signs; revisions to temporary yard sign regulations. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was opened at 6:42 pm. There were no speakers. The Public <br />Hearing was closed at 6:42:10. <br /> <br />J. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />K. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT <br /> <br />L. COUNCIL REPORTS/BUSINESS <br />2. <br />Ms. Carr stated she received an email stating that some people have not been paid <br />for work they did for CALOP. Mayor Welsch suggested she pass the e-mail on to Mr. <br />Walker who would, in turn, give it to the appropriate person on the CALOP <br /> <br />Commission. <br />4. <br />Other Discussions/Business <br /> <br /> Byron Price and Arthur Sharpe, Jr. requested a discussion of the Free Loop <br />Parking Lot in the Loop. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said he was aware that the Plan Commission had not voted on the free <br />Loop parking lot yet but he was concerned that there were lot of statements that <br />kind of said “This is the City’s position”. He said he did not know the City had a <br />position. Mr. Price said he also saw an item that said the Council did not have a <br />right to vote on a major change. Mr. Price stated that he wanted to get a feel of <br />what members of this body’s position was on Free Parking in the Loop. He said <br />he believed there should be Free Parking in the Loop. Mr. Price said he thought <br />the Council would do everything they could to support a designated top ten streets <br />in the Country. He said it disturbed him that something that big could be moved <br />2 <br /> <br />
