<br />address those who felt they were not notified and it was important they heard about the Plan. He <br />stated that the proposal is that the Plan Commission would have a public information session and <br />deal with the communication issues with private and public subdivisions. He stated that they <br />discussed how to get good lists for how to get information out to the public and that some of the <br />subdivision lists were outdated, but staff agreed to work on updating them. He also stated that <br />they want to get help from City Council members to get the word out for the proposed public <br />information session. <br /> <br />Ms. Locke stated that they also discussed the next Comprehensive Plan Update process and they <br />wanted public involvement to be a strong component with aggressive public outreach to ensure <br />there is widespread community <br />want to achieve for the Comprehensive Plan process after the outreach steps for the Bike/Walk <br />Plan. She added that the Plan Commission had already approved the Bike and Walk Plan and <br />while the work should not be redone, the communication process should be refined. She stated <br />this was a good time to address the communication issue. <br /> <br />Ms. Moran stated that holding a public information session would have the added benefit of <br />getting the plan out to the people and selling the plan so people understand it, resulting in more <br />informed citizen support. <br /> <br />Ms. Lewis stated that they want to move forward with the Draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Master <br />Plan after the extra effort for communication and there was no intention of holding up the Plan. <br /> <br />Update from Council Liaison <br />th <br />Mayor Welsch stated that the Heman Park Pool was set to open on Saturday the 25. She stated <br />that outdoor movies in the park would begin Saturday in Heman Park. She stated that on <br />thth <br />Monday May 27, the 39 Memorial Day Run would be held which benefitted many local <br />nonprofits. She also stated that the last public hearing on the budget for FY 2014 was at the last <br />City Council meeting and would be on the City Council agenda on Tuesday May 28. She stated <br />the budget showed a surplus. <br /> <br />Update from Staff <br />Ms. Riganti stated that a Site Plan was approved for a small building on McKnight and Delmar <br />to be the leasing office for the residential apartment complex to the north. She stated that the <br />Walgreens development was moving forward and they would be breaking ground in the near <br />future. She stated that a University City location could not be found for the dentist that was in <br />that office building and she relocated outside of University City. She stated that the building to <br />the rear of that site was proposed to be an office, but the developers had now received interest <br />from a different potential tenant. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br />tm; E <br />
