There will be a meeting, January 23, 2007, at Firehouse No. 2, <br />7:00 p.m.; everyone was encouraged to attend. <br /> <br />Ms. Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel Ave <br />Ms. Glickert discussed the replacement of the broken portable steps for the handicapped <br />at the Natatorium. The U-City School District has ordered the steps and asked the City to <br />pay for half of the cost. The Parks’ department has already turned down this request. <br />Ms. Glickert requested the Council to authorize one-half of the payment which would be <br />$1,150. Ms. Glickert went on to suggest that Heman Park pool lifeguards return to <br />certification by the Red Cross. Furthermore, the diving board and slide had to be closed <br />frequently last year because of insufficient guards on duty. She also asked if the very <br />narrow rungs on the pool’s ladders could be replaced especially the one in the 5 feet <br />water. Ms. Glickert asked if the City could negotiate with the school district to take over <br />the management of the Natatorium. Lastly she talked about the Prop K Committee’s <br />recommendation that during the City Hall’s renovation the offices for staff in the <br /> 6 <br /> <br />
