Meeting Minutes –University CityGreen Practices Committee <br />May 9, 2013-Page 3 <br />(4) Tim suggested that the Commission write a grant to work with the St. Louis Regional Chamber & <br />Growth Association (RCGA) to expand into communities. Other members suggested East-West <br />Gateway (EWG) and the St. Louis County Council. <br />(5) Jeff mentioned that he would like to get more information out to the community about the <br />Commission. We should distribute the GPC brochures and post infotion on the Citys social media <br />sites. If members send content for the website, Lynnette will post it. <br />(6) Members should still think of ways to reach out to the comm <br />(7) Helen has agreed to fill the Secretary position. <br />(8)Lois mentioned that based on the Dynamic Governance meeting method used by the GPC, sub- <br />committees are able to meet and complete work outside of the Commission mee All sub- <br />committee meetings should be posted 24 hours in advance to comply with Sunshine Law requirements <br />(9)Scott volunteered to review the Citys social media presence and <br />standards for outreach on the GPC and its activities. <br /> <br />7.Reports <br />a.Councilmember Glickert <br />(1)Council authorized a conditional use permit to MERS/Goodwill to build another Goodwill Store next <br />door on Olive. Lois reviewed the drawings and identified several sustainable fe <br />permeable paving, white roof, high quality windows, and extra insulation in the walls. <br />(2)He attended a ribbon cutting at the corner of Old Bonhomme and M (the <br />company moved from Olivette). Faith Group is a nationwide IT business for airport security w <br />employees. The company renovated an existing building into office space. Renovations included <br />installing solar panels on the roof that will reduce the energy <br />(3)The opening of the new building located at the corner of North and South and Olive was delayed and is <br />expected to be opened within the next few months. <br />(4)The building on Pershing and Jackson has been purchased and is c <br />solar panels (facing south), geothermal energy and energy effici <br />(5)The new Fire House is on schedule to open this fall around Septe <br />(6)The demolition on the new Walgreens is underway. <br /> <br />8.Closing Round <br />a.Lois Sechrist <br />(1)Lois will be teaching a Greening Healthcare class for the St. Louis C <br />It is co-sponsored by St. Louis Community College and USGBC.
