BILL 9192 – <br />An ordinance declaring certain parcels in the 6500 block of Plymouth <br />Avenue and blighted under the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority law <br /> <br />and approving a redevelopment plan for the area. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY MR. BILL 9193 <br /> – An ordinance repealing Ordinance No. 6849 and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new ordinance so as to amend Section 3 – Functions and Duties of the <br /> <br />Human Relations Commission. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY MR. CROW <br />9. BILL 9194 – <br />An ordinance repealing Chapter 2.62 of the University City Municipal <br />Code, relating to the police and firefighter’s retirement system, and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new chapter to be known as “Chapter 2.62 Police and Firefighter’s <br />Retirement System”, thereby amending said Chapter so as to assure consistency, <br />and restructure the plan to assure consistency of the structure and order of plan <br /> <br />provisions. <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY MR. CROW <br />10. BILL 9195 <br />– An ordinance repealing Chapter 2.64 of the University City Municipal <br />Code, relating to the non-uniformed employees retirement system , and enacting <br />in lieu thereof a new chapter to be known as “Chapter 2.64 Non-uniformed <br />Employees Retirement System”, thereby amending said chapter so as to maintain <br />plan qualification under the Internal Revenue Code, remove outdated provisions, <br />revise language to assure consistency, and restructure the plan to assure <br /> <br />consistency of the structure and order of plan provisions. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft brought to Council’s attention since Council spent hours on$15,000 <br />expenditure and the retirement fund is tens of millions of dollars, he said the <br />changes introduced are appropriate. His only thought would be that these are <br />very involved and very complicated and noted the consultants have been working <br />on them for a couple of years. The Pension Commission has been very diligent <br />and hard- working on this. Mr. Kraft said it would be useful to have the Council <br />have a study session with the pension consultant before Council votes on the bill, <br />so Council can understand what he did and why he did it, so Council will be more <br />familiar with how this Pension Plan actually worked. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow believed that the Pension Board and Mr. Mug, the attorney who did the <br />technical changes would be more than willing to meet with Council. He said the <br />two bills in front of Council are the technical changes needed to be updated for the <br />revenue code. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert agreed that Council should have a study session, as Council moves <br />forward with these two bills. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch asked if it was the consensus of Council if they would want this <br />study session before the September 9 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow said the changes are mostly technical in nature so he thought it could be <br />before the September 9 Council meeting.
