Staff recommended <br />approval. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow moved to approve the solicitation, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />6. <br />Approval of Human Relations Committee letter to Mr. Scott Schnuck. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved to postpone this consideration indefinitely and Mr. Glickert <br />seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated for the record, “I am against this motion, especially <br />postponing something indefinitely that came to us with what I understand was the <br />unanimous approval of the members of the Human Relations Commission of the <br />City of University City”. <br /> <br />Voice vote on the motion carried by a majority with two Nay votes from Mr. Price <br />and Mayor Welsch, <br /> <br />7. <br />Approval of Human Relations Committee request to partner with the Missouri <br /> <br />Commission of Human Rights. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved to approve, was seconded by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENT <br />Meg McClelland, 6265 Cates Ave #1E <br />Ms. McClelland stated the department of Housing and Urban Development and Fair <br />Housing Equal Opportunity has partnership funds available to designated Fair Housing <br />Assistant Program agencies. She said HUD had advised the Commission of the Fair <br />Housing Assistance Program, FHAP, stating agencies can apply for these funds to <br />partner and/or work with a variety of public and/or private for-profit and not-for-profit <br />organizations to develop activities and programs that will reinforce and carry out the <br />prevision of the FHAP agencies. Ms. McClelland stated FHAP will provide the <br />University City Commission on Human Relations $1,000.00 to carry out fair housing- <br />related activities in UCity. She noted the partnership period will be set by HUD if and <br />when their application is awarded. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved that Council approve an affirmative response on the part of the <br />Human Relations Commission to the state agency, was seconded by Mr. Price and <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />L.
