Meeting Minutes –University CityGreen Practices Committee <br />September 12, 2013-Page 2 <br />e.Lois Sechrist <br />(1)She asked everyone to keep her son in Boulder, Colorado in their thoughts since he is <br />experiencing the massive flooding. <br />(2)She was in Chicago early in the week attending the U.S. Green Bu <br />the Heartland Conference. She was a co-presenter on a new project, the LEED for <br />Healthcare Hospital in Fishers, Indiana. <br />f.Tim Michels <br />(1)He announced that he is no longer employed with FDH, Inc. and cu <br />work on his own. <br /> <br />3.Administrative items: <br />a.Minutes from the September 12, 2013, meeting minutes approved with revisions in the Attendees <br />Present section, remove Michael Glickert (Council liaison) and to the New Business section, item <br />4, a3  add year after three. <br /> <br />4.New Business <br />a.New Member Appointment Process <br />(1) The City Clerk will submit the Commission applications to Councilman Kraft to appoint a new <br />member during an upcoming Council meeting. Lois will contact Mr. <br />and to answer any questions. <br />b.Thank you letter  Jerry Breakstone <br />(1) Helen and Lois prepared the thank you letter for Jerry and mentioned his input and insightful <br />calm demeanor along with his assistance in transitioning the Gre <br />Commission.The letter will be mailed to Jerry as soon as possible. <br />5.Special Presentations <br />a.None <br /> <br />6.Old Business <br />a.Energy Conservation Code, 2012 Edition  Ordinance Amendment <br />(1)Lynnette emailed the draft code to members for additional input. <br />b.Member Terms- Renewed in the 08/12/13 Council Meeting <br />(1)Lynnette reported that three members Jeff Mishkin, Helen Fuller were all <br />th <br />reappointed to the Commission for three more yearsduring the August 12 Council meeting. <br />c.Energy  Subcommittee Report by Tim Michels <br />(1)Tim is working with a couple lawyers to see if they can put toge <br />net zero by creating a limited partnership with the City and a private entity. Maybe a public - <br />private joint venture with the City to own a wind farm with the majority of the financial <br />investment from the private sector.
