Mayor Janet Majerus presla~a and <br />called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. In ~Itic~ to the Mayor, the follow- <br />ing ~-.:ers of the C~mcil were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Jcee~h L. ~u~m~, Jr. <br />m~.MaryV. Sdmman <br /> <br />,Mrs. ~ arrived at 5:06 p.m. <br /> <br />Absent: C~uncilmember Rc~ert G. Wagner. <br /> <br />The purpoee of the meeting was to approve F~,~n Park Pool ba~ renova- <br />tions and a pay ozdinanoe for University City fire captains and firefighters. <br /> <br />BC~D ISSUE - POOL BAI}~KX~ MODi~'iCATIC~S <br /> <br />Ihe City Manager said bids were solici~a for the purpose of making ADA modi- <br />fications and finish upgrades to the H~an Park Pool bathhouse, with each <br />bidder asked to bid c~1 two up~dfmal alternates to be ~an~M in case the costs <br /> <br />completely replace the clay tile roof on the tower. Bids were as follows: <br /> <br />Maes~-~ CODStrUCtiC~ $65,200 <br />Alternate Bid #1 11,200 <br />Alternate Bid #2 9,000 <br /> <br />MUCCi~Lu~SO Ccr~truction $88,150 <br />Alternate Bid #1 11,852 <br />Alternate Bid #2 4,462 <br /> <br />It was reoammended that the contract be awar~a to Maes~ Construction for <br />$65,200, with the addition of their alternate bid #2 of $9,000 for the new <br />tower roof. Alternate bid #1 is not rec~a~ended because of the cost; City <br />staff can make sene of the necessary modificatiors this winter. Total cost <br />is $74,200. Bc~ld issue estimate for this project was $70,300, with a 10% <br /> <br />In respcrse to Mrs. Schuman, Mr. Ollena_orff said the clay tile will be re- <br />placed by clay tile. <br /> <br /> <br />
