<br />Moerchen Inc. with a maximum compensation of $62,264.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Crow moved to approve the sidewalk and curb ramp design award, was <br />seconded by Mr. Price and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. <br />Jackson Ave pedestrian traffic signal replacement project. Staff recommended <br />the contract be awarded to Gerstner Electric in the amount of $89,541.00. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved to approve the award to Gerstner Electric, was seconded by Mr. <br />Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />4. <br />Lewis Park Master Plan approval, one minor change to the cost estimate. In <br />speaking with Councilmember Glickert, Mr. Walker stated the contingency <br />allowance was discussed and changed from $64,000.00 to $54,000.00 for the <br />Lewis Park construction phase II. Therefore, the cost-estimate is now <br />$392,942.22 instead of $402,942.22. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft moved to approve, was seconded by Ms. Carr and the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft stated the Lewis Park planning process brought out about 90 residents <br />who live around Lewis Park, was very impressive. The plan had plenty of public <br />input and support; people expressed their likes and dislikes. Mr. Kraft noted the <br />process was good and hoped it moved forward <br /> <br />5. <br />Phase I Millar Park improvements recommended award to Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. in <br />the amount of $49,000.00, <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved to approve the award to Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. was seconded by <br />Mr. Glickert and the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Price asked Mr. Walker if on the large projects, does the City make sure the <br />workforce is diverse? <br /> <br />Mr. Walker stated the City makes a conscious effort to ensure that any contractor <br />hired by the City has a workforce that reflects the diversity of University City. He <br />noted it is not only reflected in large projects as this but also in the City’s efforts to <br />diversify the workforce in UCity, particularly in the more senior levels. <br /> <br />L. COUNCIL REPORTS/BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. <br />Boards and Commission appointments Needed <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch announced the appointments and/or reappointments needed. <br /> <br />2. <br />Council liaison reports on Boards and Commissions <br />Ms. Carr reported on the Human Relations Commission which is putting together <br />a workshop for the commission on race. Ms. Carr noted she has not received any <br />of the material but wanted to advise the Council that they will be submitting soon, <br />and would some kind of a Request for Proposal, RFP, for a facilitator.
