She stated that a number of years ago a two-family construction on
Amherst was designed with only one egress. Ms. Glickert questioned how occupants
on the second floor could escape from a fire. She said the fire chief at the time was
astounded and as a result the BOCA Code was amended. Ms. Glickert asked the
Council to look at the code on egress, asking “would you want your family living in a
building with only one door?”

Gloria Nickerson 7576 Blackberry

Ms. Nickerson spoke regarding a letter she received from the City concerning a study
concerning home elevations and thanked the Council for doing the study. She stated
the letter she received was addressed to residents and business owners. The commission noted ten people who requested a sign and Mr.
Coley noted that was only 30% of the residents and thought they had proved the sign
was not needed. The next thing he knew, a sign was installed. Mr. Coley questioned
the validity of the Traffic Commission. He said this is not a safety issue. He
considered the sign to be clutter in the small area.

P.
