Bell, 2265 Br~-~t, an AA ~ since 1968, spoke in favor <br />of allowing AA Answering Service to occupy 7211 Olive. He said it is an ex- <br />cellent problem and a positive influence in many pe~le's lives, and especi- <br />ally helpful in the way it provides fellowship ~mnr~ people who have had sim- <br />ilar prob]~n~ with alcohol. <br /> <br />Fir. Ken l>alm~, 1242 Pur~, said a large part of the audiere attendin~ this <br />meeting hope that Council will approve this site plan. As an AA m~e~_r since <br />1979, he is very proud of the important work they do. He noted that AA was <br /> <br />a way to give its approval so AA can continue its fine work here. <br /> <br />Mr. Scholar said the desirability, effecti~, and utility of Alcoholics <br />Anemymous is known to all. He moved approval with four oorrlitior~: 1) that <br />the parking lot he paved; 2) that writtel perm{-~sic~ of the adjoining lot <br />owner he secured (te clarify status of two parking spaoes c~ the p~u~erty); <br />3) that the rear entrance be locksd f~ 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and 4) that occu- <br />pancy be limited at any c$1e tlma to 35 irr]ivtr~l~. Mayor Majerus felt there will be no ~.~ct c~ the park nor c~ <br />the neig~rhood, since it u~ates no noise nor em3essive traffic.
