Session 1686, Minutes <br />January 27, 1997 <br /> <br />Telephone System Purchase <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended the purchase of a complete digital telephone system <br />which will replace our 15 year old analog system for $96,215.00, the best and <br />low bid from Tech Electronics. It was further recommended that phasing over <br />two to three years should not be done, due to extra equipment that would need <br />to be purchased to support an analog/digital system. The extra monies would <br />be available from contingency. The bids received were: <br /> <br />Tech Electronics <br />Mitel Telecommunications <br /> <br />$96,215.00 <br /> 97,782.64 <br /> <br />Tech offers the least costly maintenance and quickest response time. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval. Mr. Schoomer seconded, and all voted Aye. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL REPORT <br /> <br />The Personnel report for the week ending January 24, 1997, was received and <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8313 - APPROVING A SALE AGREEMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF 7719-21 OLIVE; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAME ON BEHALF OF UNIVERSITY CITY. <br />Bill No. 8313 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8313 was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Ware moved adoption. Mr. Schoomer seconded. The roll call vote was as <br />follows: AYES: Councilmembers Ware, Munkel, Wagner, Lieberman, Schoomer, <br />Thompson, and Mayor Adams. NAYS: None. Bill No. 8313 became Ordinance No. <br />6095. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8314 - VACATING A PUBLIC ALLEY EAST OF NORTH AND SOUTH BLVD. AND <br />NORTH OF AHERN AVE. IN UNIVERSITY CITY, BUT RESERVING PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS <br />AND DIRECTING THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE ST. LOUIS <br />COUNTY RECORDER OF DEEDS. <br />Bill NO. 8314 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8314 was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Bill No. 8314 became Ordinance No. 6096. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8315 - AMENDING CHAPTER 21 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLES <br />AND TRAFFIC BY REPEALING SECTION 21-75, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br />SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-75. ONE-WAY STREETS DESIGNATED", BY <br />AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO MAKE PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE A ONE-WAY STREET <br />NORTHBOUND FROM CORNELL AVENUE TO VERNON AVENUE. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8315 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that the City had not yet heard from the State and Federal <br />government and therefore Bill No. 8315 would not receive its third reading <br /> <br /> <br />
