<br />2. <br />Council liaison reports on Boards and Commissions <br />Mayor Welsch stated that the Plan Commission had met last week and approved a <br />minor change for Crown Center, which she believed will be an exciting project. She <br />stated that the Loop Trolley Development Board met last Friday and will be <br />submitting the final report to the FTA this week. The Board anticipated that it will <br />take roughly a month to receive a response from the agency advising them of their <br />decision on the project. <br /> <br />3. <br />Boards, Commissions and Task Force Minutes <br />4. <br />Other Discussions/Business <br /> Replacing parking in the Loop and Civic Plaza requested by Ms. Carr and Mr. <br /> <br />Crow. <br />Ms. Carr stated that at the last meeting, Ms. Glickert reported that the nine <br />spaces that had been lost in the Loop were being replaced by the rental of nine <br />spaces in an existing parking garage, as opposed to the Traffic Commission’s <br />recommendation to create nine new spaces. She stated that in addition, <br />Washington University had also been allowed to rent parking spaces in the <br />garage rather than creating new ones. Ms. Carr stated that the creation of the <br />roundabout has resulted in the loss of numerous spaces in Civic Plaza and it is <br />extremely difficult when turning into Trinity North to extricate yourself. She stated <br />that the City has provided no recommendations on what should be done about <br />the loss of parking spaces on the north and south sides of Trinity, and Council is <br />responsible to its constituents to provide new spaces or at least to have those <br />discussions. Ms. Carr asked Mr. Walker if he could provide her with any insight <br />on what the City is doing to address this issue. <br /> <br />City Manager Walker stated that staff is in the process of reviewing the issue that <br />was raised at the last Council Meeting and will submit a report at a future <br />meeting, with some options for Council to consider. <br /> <br /> Status of the Comprehensive Plan update requested by Ms. Carr and Mr. Crow <br /> <br />Ms. Carr stated that when she was appointed to the Plan Commission in <br />February 2010, and had also been a part of the Plan Committee whose intent <br />was to begin working on the Comprehensive Plan 2005 update in February or <br />March of 2010. Ms. Carr asked Mr. Walker if he would bring Council up to date <br />on the progress that has been made since it is now almost November 2013. <br /> <br />City Manager Walker stated that staff had included that information in the most <br />recent Council Brief that was circulated to members of Council. He stated that <br />Requests for Proposal were issued for the next iteration of the Comprehensive <br />Plan update; one for a Communications Community Engagement Consultant and <br />one for a Professional Planning Service. Mr. Walker stated that seven <br />responses were received for the Communications Consultant and four responses <br />were received for the Professional Planning Services. Interviews were <br />th <br />conducted with qualified firms during the week of September 29 and a <br />recommendation for the consultants would be forwarded to Council in early <br />November.
