SESSI~ 1610 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF ~E UNIVERSITY UI'A~ COUNCIL <br /> <br /> FebDm~y 7, 1994 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City b~_ld in the Coun- <br />cil chamber of City Hall c~ Mcr~ay, Feb~m~y 7, 1994, Mayor Janet Majerus <br />presided and called tha meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the <br />Mayor, the following members of t_ha Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Jcee~h L. ~a~m, Jr. <br />Mrs. Mary Vo Sc~m~n <br /> <br />Absent: Councilmenher Byron R. Price. <br /> <br />Also present w~s City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner n~3ved approval Of the Jamm~y 24, 1994, minu~ as submitted. Mr. <br />~s seconded the motic~l. Mayor Majerus nc~a the word "given" was emitted <br />frcm tba second to last sentence on pa~e 5. The City Clerk said that will be <br />corrected before tba minu~ are distributea_. All voted Aye. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus introduced Life Skills Foundation Executive Director William <br />Welsch and Board President William Keller. Fur. Keller said he and Mr. Welsch <br />wished to thank University City for its wona~ful hospitality over the past <br />30 years and regret~ that Life Skills must now move because it has grown so <br />large. Mr. Welsch presentS_ a lovely plaque to Mayor Majerus that expressed <br />appreciation to University City for its extraordinary support, with special <br />recognition to the City Council, T,~hrary, Fire and Police Departments, and <br />many neighbors and friends who have helped further Life Skills' mission of <br />assisting tha mentally retarded or dibbled to live and work with dignity in <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked Mr. Keller and Mr. Welsch for tb~ lovely plaque, adding <br />she rec3retted that Life Skills was leaving the ou~L~nity. <br /> <br />OATHS OF O~'~'iCE <br /> <br />Dr. (~larles L. Leven, recently appoint~ to the Pension Boards, and Ms. Mary <br />M. Carey, newly appointed to the Traffic C~,.~ission, were given the oath of <br />office by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked Ms. Care7 and Dr. Leven for offering to serve the com- <br />munity in this ~mportant way, adding she thought they would find their ser- <br />vice interesting and rewarding. <br /> <br /> <br />
