All =~a~deling and changes in use of space within the building shall be <br /> in strict accordance with the building code. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved approval with all conditi~. Mrs. Sc/~m~n seoonded the mo- <br />tion. <br /> <br />Ms. Feryle COoper, Executive D/_~ector of pa4~ Counseling Center, came to the <br />miu~u~xme. Mr. Schoc~er said be was very ccmlcerned about erosion of the <br />City's tax base wban nc~-profit o~nizatic~s locate here, since both the <br />City and School District face financial crises. He noted that this group <br />will re~e city services and perhaps use the scbaols; he asked whether the <br />Board of Directors had con~lated making payments in lieu of taxes to the <br />City or School District. Ms. Coopear said she could take that request to the <br />Board. Mr. Schocmer asked the City Manager to pursue this matter. <br /> <br />Mrs. Tn~son said an organization just coming into the c~ux,unity might not <br />have furas for palments such as Mr. Schoe~er was suggesting, pointing out <br />that it was not required. ~ to Mrs. ~a~sc~, Mr. Ollendorff said <br />he h~-~ not discussed this matter with the group but would be happy to do so. <br /> <br />Mr. ~aam~ asked if the group has adequate financial resources to maintain the <br />house they are buying. Mr. Ollendorff said that w~s not explored, however, <br />inquiries confirmed that Pais Counseling is an ew~ellent service group with a <br />good track record. Ms. Cooper said the pruperty will be well maintained <br />since doing anythln~ else would he a poor reflection on this group. <br /> <br />Mr. Schooner noted the City cannot require payment in lieu of taxes, but it <br />has been asked of othar not-for-profit groups. Ha felt this request should <br />be kept as an option for the future. <br /> <br />Mr. Price called the question. All voted__ to close debate except M3m.
