is an island growing with trees and shrubs that will have a profound affect on
residential property, the swimming pool, the community center and the recreation
center. She stated that if there is a flood similar to the one UCity experienced a few
years ago these buildings would be devastated because the water cannot flow the
way that it is supposed to. Ms. Glickert suggested that the City contact MSD
informing them of their responsibilities with respect to River Des Peres. However if
MSD does not commit to the dredging then the City should budget money to do it
themselves.

P. COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mr. Price stated that he had read an article in the St. Louis American about Ernest
Green, a former colleague, who had been awarded a commemoration for his work
with parolees. He stated that Mr. Green had established a system that is now
being utilized throughout numerous police departments, where newly released
prisoners who had gained employment, but was having a difficult time getting back
and forth could be issued bus passes. Mr. Price informed the City Manager that
would send him a copy of the article.

Ms. Carr stated that on a recent walk down Ackert Walkway she had noticed that
there were no signs identifying the name of the park. She stated that Mayor Ackert
deserved to be celebrated, as would any other mayor, so she would hope that the
City would move towards installing some type of signage; even if it was temporary,
as rapidly as possible.

Q. ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Pro-tem Mr. Price adjourned the meeting at 7:21 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Joyce Pumm

City Clerk, MRCC/CMC

10
