AD1NGS <br /> <br />BII.L NO. 8311 - AMENDING CHAPTER 25 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO RETIREMENT <br />AND PENSIONS BY REPEALING SECTION 25-43, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A <br />NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 25-43. NORMAL SERVICE RETIREMENT." <br />Bill No. 8311 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8311 was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorffsaid the record should show that although Council may adopt this bill now, it will not go <br />into effect until February 8, 1997, since a 45-day filing period is required when there is a change in the <br />pension law. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mrs. Thompson seconded. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: <br />Councilmembers Ware, Munkel, Wagner, Lieberman, Schoomer, Thompson, and Mayor Adams. <br />NAYS: None. Bill No. 8311 became Ordinance No. 6093. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8312 - AMENDING CHAPTER 34 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ZONING AND <br />ARTICLE IX RELATING TO SPECIAL HISTORIC LANDMARKS AND DISTRICTS, BY ENACT- <br />ING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-128. PURCELL AVENUE SUGAR- <br />BERRY TREE HISTORIC LANDMARK" SO AS TO ESTABLISH THE PURCELL AVENUE <br />SUGARBERRY TREE AS AN HISTORIC LANDMARK. <br />Bill No. 8312 was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Bill No. 8312 was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson moved adoption. Mr. Schoomer seconded, noting that this has been a project of the <br />Park Department, Park Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, and Plan Commission for at <br />least three years, and he was happy to see it come to fruition. Mrs. Thompson agreed, adding that many <br />residents in the Third Ward want to see this tree protected. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: <br />Councilmembers Munkel, Wagner, Lieberman, Schoomer, Thompson, Ware, and Mayor Adams. <br />NAYS: None. Bill No. 8312 became Ordinance No. 6094. <br /> <br /> <br />
