Session 1774
February 7, 2000

wonders if there is not a more comprehensive picture for north bound Hanley and to
possibly prohibit right turns on all those streets during rush hours. Likewise on Jackson,
coming in westbound. What concerns him is that we have a set speed limit for all public
streets and if an exemption is made here, will it mean that we will have to go street by
street to lower the speed limit? Maybe it would be better to designate this area as a school
zone for school hours and school days.

Mr. Ollendorff responding to Mr. Lieberman said that he has a request for four different
bills: one for the parking on 81"t at Nob Hill, one for the 20 mph speed limit on
Washington, one for the stop sign at West Point, one for the no right turn from 4pm-6pm
off of Hanley. Mr. Lieberman wanted to make sure Mr. Ollendorff understood that a stop
sign had to be placed on West Point, as well as Washington - in order to stop traffic both
ways. Mr. Ollendorff understands this.

Mr. Wagner said he noticed a lot of reaction from the neighbors in the audience when the
hit children statistics were discussed. He asked them to see him after the meeting. Mr.
Munkel's comment about going street to street to change speed limit is well taken. Mr.
Wagner's response is that if the same dangerous situation mixing children and speeding
cars occurs, then yes, the speed limit will be changed street by street.

BOY SCOUT TROOP #591 FROM CHRIST THE KING:

Mayor Adams said it was his distinct honor to introduce Boy Scout Troop #591 from Christ
the King, who were all here this evening to meet the requirements for their citizenship
badges. He said these kids were the stars of the future and congratulated them.

CITIZEN COMMENTS:

Allan Telio, Washington University Student Representative, 745 Interdrive, stated that he
would like to request stop signs at the following intersections because they are hazardous:
Limit and Clemens, Interdrive and Enright and at Enright and Eastgate. These areas are
congested because of all the apartment buildings and children. It is difficult to see around
the corners. A lot of times, he has observed people going through these intersections
without paying attention. He has seen a couple of accidents here and he has personally,
nearly been in one or two himself.

Mr. Schoomer reported that on Thursday at 6 p.m., the Parkview Gardens Association
would be meeting at Blueberry Hill. He suggested to Mr. Telio that he present his concerns
to them since these intersections are within their association jurisdiction. If they agree with
it, then it would be appropriate to have them request a hearing of the Traffic Commission.

9
