indicated that staff could provide the city’s accounting summary for EDRSTB review and comment. Ms. <br />Wellington asked if the portion of the auditor’s report related to EDRSTB could be made available to <br />the Board. Ms. Riganti indicated that it could be. <br />Other Business <br />Public Comments – <br />Joe Edwards, representing the Loop Special Business District (LSBD), distributed several newspaper articles <br />related to other major projects and thriving districts in the area. He noted the importance for the Board to <br />consider funding LSBD for annual repeating activities in the Loop to compete with other areas. <br />Dan Wald, 8420 Delmar Blvd., introduced himself as property owner in the Loop and University City and <br />serving on the Parkview Gardens Association Board. He spoke about the legal fee funding ($40,000) for <br />Community Improvement District (CID) previously approved by EDRSTB and inquired about availability of <br />such funding for use on a CID study but not necessarily for legal fees. For the benefit of new EDRSTB <br />members, the Chairperson asked Ms. Riganti to provide the background on the previous funding approval. Mr. <br />Joe Edwards also provided additional information on the CID approval process and subsequent actions taken <br />by the City and LSBD. Ms. Riganti also noted that a new Request for Proposal (RFP) process would be <br />needed for use of the approved funding and, if a new application were to be submitted, it should be by the <br />LSBD. <br />Council Member Paulette Carr, 7901 Gannon, spoke about the information forwarded to the City Council <br />regarding the CID application as recommended by EDRSTB. Mr. Peters requested staff to provide a copy of <br />the previous CID legal fee funding application. <br />Reports <br />a. Council Liaison Report –Mayor Welsch reported that a report on the City’s response to recent snow events <br />was available and on a retirement reception in honor of MaryAnn Shaw, to be held at the City Council <br />Chambers on Sunday at 7 pm. She indicated that a third meeting for the priests and rabbis to work <br />together was held. She also noted that EDRSTB was advisory to the City Council only on expenditures of <br />EDRST. <br /> <br />th <br />b. Staff Report-The Board will be holding their annual election at the February 20 meeting and the <br />University City Chamber of Commerce has requested a representative be allowed to serve as an ex- <br />officio of EDRSTB. Mr. Kuhlman requested an update on the Chamber of Commerce’s effort of <br />forming an Olive Blvd. group. <br />There being no further business, the motion for meeting adjournment, made by Mr. Kuhlman and <br />seconded by Ms. Wellington, was approved by 5-0.
