Approval of award to Truck Component Services for an automated side <br />1. <br />load refuse vehicle in the amount of $228,519 to replace fleet vehicle <br />totaled after fire. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved to approve, seconded by Mr. Sharpe. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert stated that it would be helpful if staff would provide Council with <br />a picture of equipment or vehicles of this magnitude in the future. Mr. <br />Walker stated that they would do so. <br /> <br />Voice vote on Ms. Carr’s motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Approval of award to Energy Petroleum for annual fuel contract based on <br />2. <br />overall lowest price. $450,000 is budgeted for Fiscal Year 2014. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr moved to approve, seconded by Mr. Sharpe and the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Authorize City Manager and Finance director to sign grant applications for <br />3. <br />two grant applications for federal funds to improve Forsyth Blvd within <br />City Limits and to improve safety by the construction of a mini <br />roundabout at Old Bonhomme Rd. and Lafon Place. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert moved to approve, seconded by Ms. Carr and the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Approval to have the City Manager authorize the Public Works and Parks <br />4. <br />Director to sign the right-of-way permit to allow the Loop Trolley <br />Company to remove two trees. <br />REMOVED FROM THE AGENDA <br /> <br />DRAFT FY 2015 Budget Presentation <br />5. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker informed Mayor Welsch that he needed to move a couple of <br />things around and asked for a two-minute break to allow him to prepare for <br />the presentation. <br /> <br />During the break, Mayor Welsch stated that the City had received a letter <br />from the Government Finance Officer’s Association notifying them that <br />University City had received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award <br />for the current budget. She stated that this award is the highest form of <br />recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant <br />achievement by this organization. Mayor Welsch congratulated the Director <br />of Finance Tina Charumilind and the City Manager on this accomplishment. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker stated that it was his honor to present the Proposed Fiscal Year <br />stth <br />Budget for July 1 2014 through June 302015. He stated that over the <br />past several months staff has held three public meetings to receive input on <br />the budget process, and following tonight’s submission to Council there will <br />be three more public meetings to get additional input.
