SESSION 1527 <br /> LP? <br /> K[Nt7ES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> { <br /> August 27, 1990 <br /> At a special meeting of the City Cauzci.l of University City held in Roan 6 of <br /> City Hall on Monday, August 27, 1990, Mayor Janet Majerus presided and called <br /> the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following <br /> members of the Cauncil were present: <br /> Mr. Byron R. Price* <br /> Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br /> Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br /> Mr. Paul E. Schoaner <br /> Mrs. Betty L. Thompson. <br /> *Mr. Price arrived at 5:43 p.m. <br /> Absent: Cauncilmember Robert G. Wagner, who was excused. <br /> Also present were City Manager Frank 011endorff and Deputy City Manager Susan <br /> Glassman. <br /> AEBUHRIMEL <br /> Mayor Majerus moved that Ms. Jane McNeil, 504 Purdue Avenue, be appointed to <br /> the Industrial Development Authority and Tax Increment Financing Commission <br /> for an unexpired term ending August 27, 1993. Mrs. Schuman seconded the mo- <br /> tion, which carried unanimously. <br /> CITY MliNAGER'S REPORTS <br /> SITE PLAN REVIEW- 7315 OLIVE BOULEVARD <br /> The City Manager said Council was asked to approve use of the former day care <br /> center at 7315 Olive as a training facility for youth. Although the occupant <br /> is non-profit, the property will remain on the tax rolls since the group will <br /> lease the facility. He said the proposed use could be of great value to the <br /> community, and he recommended approval with the following conditions: <br /> 1. Landscaping shall be installed in the rear fifteen (15) feet of the prop- <br /> erty to serve as the transitional yard required by Section 34-35.6(d) . A <br /> landscape plan for this area shall be submitted to the Director .of Plan- <br /> ning for his review and approval. 'Landscaping shall be installed and <br /> maintained in accordance with the approved plan. <br /> 2. The fence along the east side of the property shall be replaced prior to <br /> occupancy and shall be maintained in good repair. Concrete bollards shall <br /> be placed between the fence and the parking spaces to prevent damage to <br /> the fence. <br /> 3. Signs shall be in strict conformance with the provisions of the University <br /> City Sign Code. <br /> 4. A total of no more than 23 students, teachers and administrators shall be <br /> on the premises at any one time. <br />
