Mrs. Schuman <br /> seconded the motion. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: <br /> Councilmembers Adams, Wagner, Schuman, Schooaner, Thompson, and Mayor Maj eros. <br /> NAYS: None. ABSENT: Councilmember Price. Bill No. 7977 became Ordinance <br /> No. 5769. <br /> BILL FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> BILL NO. 7979 - AMENDING CHAPTER 21 MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MUM VEHICLES <br /> AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-10.1 AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW <br /> SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 21-10.1. OFFICIAL TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS-- <br /> DESICNATION PROHIBITING RIGHT TURN ON RED INTERSECTIONS" BY AMENDING SAID SEC- <br /> TION SO AS TO PROHIBIT RIGHT TURN ON RED AT DESIGNATED INTERSECTIONS. <br /> A bill was introduced by Councilmember Adams, entitled: <br /> "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVER- <br /> SITY CITY RELATING TO N)I0R VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, BY REPEALING SECTION 21-10.1 <br /> SOF, AS ENAVAU BY ORDINANCE NO. 5506 ENACAD NOVEMBER 4, 1985, RELATING <br /> TO OFFICIAL TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNS--DESIGNATION OF RIGHT TURN ON RED INTER- <br /> SECTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS 'SECTION <br /> 21-10.2. OFFICIAL TRAFFIC SIGNS AND SIGNALS--DESIGNATION PROHIBITING RIGHT <br /> TURN ON RED INTERSECTIONS' BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT RIGHT <br /> TURN ON RED AT DESIGNATED INTERSECTIONS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PRO- <br /> VIDING A PENALTY." <br /> The bill was assigned No. 7979 and given its first reading. <br /> Mr. 011endorff said this bill will remove the prohibition on right turn on red <br /> at Pershing and Hanley, and the north off-ramp at I-170 and Delmar. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Mrs. Thompson said the 8200 block of Braddock had a picnic and bestyard con- <br /> test last Saturday, and she was extremely pleased to report that every resi- <br /> dent on that block took part and that all the yards were outstanding. <br /> (we On the subject of the new roll-out refuse containers, Mrs. 'Thompson suggested <br /> that since there were so many questions and comments among residents who are <br /> using the carts, perhaps a town hall meeting should be held. <br />
