Mr. Price seconded the motion, adding that he saw no reason to
turn it down. All voted Aye except Mr. Wagner, who voted Nay.
1991 SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM
The City Manager said the Park Commission recommended approval of the staff
proposals for the 1991 Summer Recreation Program. He noted there were few
changes from last year. The Commission also recommended spending $1600 to
mail the booklet separately from the School/City newspaper, however, Mr. 01-
lendorff said the City's tight budget precluded that, and the booklet will be
mailed with the newspaper by mid-May.
Mr. Price moved approval as recommended. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously.
FINAL PLAT - AMHERST PLACE SUBDIVISION
The City Manager said approval was recommended by the Plan Commission and
Planning staff for the final plat of Amherst Place Subdivision (adjacent to
the Lionsgate Condominiums) . The plat conforms to City requirements and is
in basic agreement with the previously approved preliminary plat. A new own-
er appears ready to proceed with construction pending approval.
Mr. Adams moved approval, with Mr. Schoomer seconding the motion.
Mr. Schoomer asked when work will start. The developer, Mr. Mike Mullenix,
Dominion Properties, said he hoped to start construction at the end of Decem-
ber, with a display home ready in April, 1991.
All voted Aye.
CONDITIONAL USE - 7170 VERNON (TRANSMISSION REPAIR)
The City Manager concurred in the Plan Commission recommendation to approve
using this former gasoline station for auto repair, subject to the following
conditions:
1. All open off-street parking areas and driveways shall be graded and paved
with a durable dust-free and hard material, such as bituminous hot mix or
portland cement concrete or some comparable material.
2. The existing cable and posts located along the Midland Boulevard and Ver-
non Avenue property lines shall be removed from the property.
3.
