MEETING CALLED TO ORDER <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, on <br />Monday, May 12, 2014, Mayor Shelley Welsch called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />B. ROLL CALL <br />In addition to the Mayor the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Paulette Carr <br /> Mr. Stephen Kraft <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also in attendance was the City Manager Lehman Walker. <br /> <br />C. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Mr. Sharpe stated that he would like to add the nomination of Kevin Taylor to be appointed to the <br />Advisory Board/Washington University. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft stated that he would like to add the nomination of Michael Waxenberg to be appointed to <br />the Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br />City Manager Lehman Walker stated that he would like to withdraw Bill 9229 and correct the <br />amount shown in Item K(2) under the City Manager’s Report from $45,421.20 to $57,754.80. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that she would like to set aside some time after the swearing-in portion of <br />the agenda to honor Councilmember Byron Price who will be leaving Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved to approve the agenda as amended, seconded by Mr. Glickert and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />D. PROCLAMATIONS <br />1. <br />National Kids to Parks Day – Saturday, May 17, 2015, at Fogerty Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. <br /> <br />E. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />1. <br />March 28, 2014, City Council Regular Session Part I and II minutes were moved for approval <br />by Mr. Sharpe, seconded by Dr. Carr. <br /> <br />Dr. Carr stated that the second paragraph on page E-1-3 which reads, “Ms. Forster’s statement <br />that the firefighters were in uniform does not necessarily mean that they were in uniform since <br />she has told Council in no uncertain terms that she works for the City Manager,” should be <br />amended to read, “Ms. Forster’s statement that the firefighters were in uniform does not <br />necessarily mean that they were in uniform since Ms. Forster has told Council in no uncertain <br />Roar’s <br />terms that she works for the City Manager”. Dr. Carr also requested that be amended to <br />ROAR’s <br />read . <br /> <br />Voice vote on the motion to approve the minutes as amended carried unanimously. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
