Ms. <br />Gutierrez explained that Option B from CBB is one topic. The proposal from HR Green <br />Engineering Firm is a parking study and the two are not related one to the other. <br />Commissioner Warbin suggested that the Traffic Commission meet with the Historic <br />Preservation Commission to discuss the symmetry of the roundabout design and its <br />interaction with the travel lanes. Commissioner Wofsey suggested that the Traffic <br />Commission attends the Historic Preservation Commission meeting on June 19, 2014. <br /> <br />Commissioner Wofsey also suggested that the Traffic Commission send a representative to <br />the Historic Preservation Meeting on June 19, 2014, as well as ask a representative from <br />the Historic Preservation Commission attend a the Traffic Commission meeting in July. <br />Commissioner Wofsey also suggested that the Commissioner Wofsey as the chair send a <br />letter to the City Manager with copy to the Council members and Mr. Wilson asking for <br />clarification, “Since surely no one meant to say that the City Manager could take a Traffic <br />Commission recommendation and table it” and give City Manager an opportunity to <br />respond. <br /> <br />Paulette Carr, 7901 Gannon Ave <br />Ms. Carr handed out an email that was sent to her by Ron Skinner, resident at 2 Princeton <br />Ave, property owner present at the May 14, 2014 Traffic Commission meeting. Ms. Carr <br />started off by saying that it was a pleasure to serve as the Traffic Commission Council <br />Liaison and thanked the Commission and staff for the experience. <br /> <br />Ms. Carr expressed the communication had with Mr. Skinner. She explained that Mr. <br />Skinner was invited to the Traffic Commission meeting to critique the new proposed parking <br />plan while keeping Trinity Avenue closed. In the letter Mr. Skinner expressed his <br />appreciation for being consulted for the first time to consider his opinion on the parking <br />layout. Ms. Carr expressed that Mr. Skinner felt that his time and efforts were being <br />directed. Ms. Carr advised that she didn’t solicit the email that was submitted by Mr. <br />Skinner. Ms. Carr further explain that City Staff should send the recommendations made by <br />the Traffic Commission along with their recommendation to City Council, and that <br />approximate typical timeframe for submittals is one month or so. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hales asked staff if the November recommendation ever presented to the <br />City Manager. Commissioner Hales asked who made the decision to add this item on the <br />agenda. Ms. Gutierrez advised that the final decision is made by the City Manager. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes April 9, 2014 and May 14, 2014 <br /> <br />Commissioner Wofsey suggested deferring the approval of both sets of meetings until the <br />next meeting after corrections are made. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br /> <br />Commissioner Wofsey also thanked Mr. Carr for her service and welcomed Mr. Kraft. <br /> <br />Page 8 <br />Traffic Commission Minutes – June 11, 2014 <br /> <br /> <br />
