SESSION 1586 M OF THE UNIVERSITY CI'A~{ CCYJNCIL Febl~,a~y 22, 1993 At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the As- sembly Roc~n of City Hall (m Monday, February 22, 1993, Mayor Janet Majerus presided and called tba meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In aaa~tion to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: Mr. Byrcm R. Price Mr. Jcee~ L. Adams, Jr. Mr. R~bertG. Wagner Mrs. Mary V. Sch,~n Mr. PaulE. Schoceer Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. Mr. Wagner moved approval of the February 8, 1993, minutes as submitted. Mr. Adams seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Mrs. Sc~u~an moved the reappointments of Mr. Stephen Marsh, 7110 Cornell, and Ms. Andrea Ratner, 7336 Northmoor, to the City Plan Oam,dssion for terms ex- piring Jammary 1, 1996. Mr. Price seconded the motion, and all voted Aye. Ms. Michelle Brodsky, Washington University student representative, reported that ~e~Tard Baylin, Harvard University, will give the Themas P~flbright His- tory Lecture at Graham Chapel on February 24, the Murm~enschanz Mime Group is to perform at Edisc~ Theater Febzlmry 26-27, a~d spring break is March 6-15. Mayor Majerus said many in the a~ience are aware of the cu~=~t campaign to revise the sales tax distribution syste~ in St. I~3~i-~ County so University City and other "pool" cities such as Florissant and Wekster Groves will re- ceive a fair share of sales taxes. She said a group called the Fair Share Coalition now has 35 members representir~ more than 250,000 people working toward that goal. She encouraged those present to write their state repre- sentatives and urge then to pass tba legislation that will make the sales tax distribution system sceewhat fairer than it is now.
