T~a ap- <br />plicant, Ms. Shirley Stanford-Gorden, requests approval of the original plan <br />k~t with expanded rules and operating proc~%,~es. <br /> <br />Mr. Charlee Bradley, 8302 Elmore, said a dance club was not appropriate in <br />this area because many residents are elderly; also, it would be difficult to <br />control the large numbers of teenagers congregating there. Responding to <br />Mr. Wagner, Mr. Bradley said be represented the 8300 block of Elmore. <br /> <br />Mrs. Th~L~son said she and Mr. Price received several calls fr~n neighbors <br />who were c~ to a dance club at this site. She said there was not enough <br />parking, and the wrong type of people would be attracted and cause problems. <br />Also, there should be more school involvement in this type of project. <br /> <br />Mr. R. V. Person, 8349 Elmore, said children should have fun, but not at the <br />expense of getting into trouble. He a~Lued with Mr. Bradley that the pro- <br />posed location was not right for a dance club. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved denial of the site plan for 8369 Olive. Mr. Adams seconded <br />the motion. Mrs. Sch~Tan said she formerly supported this project, but now <br />found it necessary to withdraw her support after talking with several school <br />administrators. She said more volunt~v support for school activities was <br />needed as well as finding other wholesc~ae outlets for children and teenagers. <br /> <br />Mrs. Thce~r~n said all apprecia~a what Ms. Stanford-Gordon was trying to do <br />and an effort should be made to find an appx~uriate site for this activity. <br />Mr. Wagner agreed. <br /> <br />All voted Aye to deny the site plan for 8369 Olive. <br /> <br />The Personnel report for the week eDa~ng February 20, 1993, was received and <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />The Police Department report for the ~nth of Ja~m~y, 1993, w~s received and <br />ordered filed. <br /> <br />cl'l'lZMq ~ <br /> <br />Mr. R.
