<br />Ms. Moran stated that shortly after the last Plan Commission meeting, the Kick-Off <br />meeting for the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) and Kick-Off <br />meetings for the Comprehensive Plan Update were held and were very successful. She <br />stated that there were a lot of good comments and suggestions and the consultants ran the <br />meeting well and were able to get a lot of ideas from those in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that at the two public meetings, there were about a total of 100 people who <br />attended. There was an evening meeting for the general public and a meeting oriented <br />toward business owners was held the next morning. There were about 20 in attendance <br />for the business meeting. They went through the process in a similar format as the <br />meeting the night before to gather input. The comments were similar to those made at <br />the evening meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Moran stated that one of the major themes at the meeting was focusing attention to <br />Olive Boulevard issues. <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that the consultants would prepare meeting summaries for both meetings <br />which would be posted on the project website soon and there was a link to it on the City <br />website. He added that one of the features on the website was an online survey and <br />encouraged business owners and residents to complete it. Hard copies would also be <br />made available. Mr. Lai stated that the consultants were currently preparing an analysis <br />of existing conditions in the community and the community engagement consultants were <br />preparing a community engagement plan. He added that there would also be key <br />stakeholder interviews and there would be working groups formed for those who were <br />not selected for the CPAC. <br /> <br />8.c. Council Liaison Report <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch stated that the Taste of U City was held on May 8 and was successful. A <br />remembrance event was held on April 30 that focused on the holocaust in Bosnia. Kids <br />to Parks Day was held on May 17. A ribbon cutting for Which Wich restaurant was held <br />on May 18. She stated that efforts are continuing for work on the Heman Park Master <br />Plan. <br /> <br />8.d. Department Report <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that the Conditional Use Permit for the banquet hall on Olive Boulevard <br />that was reviewed by the Plan Commission last month was approved by City Council at <br />their last meeting and staff was working with them on their final plans for development. <br />He stated that the Conditional Use Permit for the Trolley was granted an extension by <br />Council until June 23, 2014. <br /> <br />9.
