Wilson, Professor of Sociology; and ~eatrice m~ry, ccmedienne. ~ne <br />Kodo ~ and Shakespearean actor Brian Bedford will be at Edison Theater. <br /> <br />M -MAYORPROT~M <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Ten Adams c~mu~ented en a proposed ~Lucery store to be located in <br />Ladue next to its border with University City. He said it was ironic that <br />the "Cities for Growth" ~rDup say they must ~ep all their local sales tax in <br />order to pay extra expenses connected with the roads and trucks servicing <br />their shopping centers, but now Ladue has agree?~_ to this lar~je new store only <br />if the truc~s come to the store through University City and not Ladue. Since <br />the cost of maintaining the roads to this location will fall on University <br />City, Ladue should turn over the tax revenue to University City or the sales <br />tax pool, he said. Mrs. Thc~L~son a~L~ed, ~g if Iadue does not want the <br />traffic, then University City should get the store along with the traffic. <br /> <br />Ma. Mary Ann Shaw, 7233 Kings~, read a statement thanking the Mayor, City <br />Council and City Manager Ollendorff for the lovely framed proclamations writ- <br /> <br />Hopper, and Ms. Jane Schaefer for their dedicated work in U. City in Bloom. <br />She than~d the many volunteers who have worked with this group, especially <br />Susan White, and city employees, with special thanks to Norma Bonham and <br />Ewald Wittier. She said the working relationship between the Park Department <br />and U. City in Bloc~ has been vexy cooperative, as well as that with other <br />departments. Ms. Shaw's statement will be attached to the permanent minutes. <br /> <br />Mr. John Lamb, 8762 ~rby Tare, strenuously objected to relaxing truck park- <br />ing laws in University City and su~ the q.m]ity of life would suffer if <br />changes in these laws are approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
