-How was the spacing of the alternate curb decided and could it be made closer? Mr. Wilson
stated that if it were six feet, a car could drive in and park, but it could be made closer, such
as three feet.

-Commission members stated that the paved area should probably be landscaped instead, or
perhaps grass.

-Concern expressed about where the curb begins and it does not transition into the existing
curb and curbing to the west. Mr. Wilson stated that there would be paint striping instead of
curbing to the west.

-Concern expressed about introducing new material and zone into Civic Plaza and that at
previous meetings, greenery was mentioned as being important. Aesthetically it would be
the best option. Mr. Wilson stated that greenery was also his preference a second curb with
the area between filled with grass or landscaping.

-It was stated that greenery would provide a better foreground for the buildings.

-A question was asked about west side as well as east for adding the green space. Mr. Wilson
confirmed it would be included all around the plaza. It would then have symmetry and
greenery, plants or grass, but either would be better than pavement.

Mr. Wilson asked if there could be a vote tonight.

Mr. Greatens stated that the item was on the agenda as informational only with no vote requested. He
stated that the changes were only minor adjustments and would not necessarily impact previous
approvals.

-Commission members stated that this was a core change from what was previously discussed
and would be concerned about going down that path procedurally when this was a
substantive change and a vote would not be appropriate since this was an informational item.
Concern about setting a bad precedent procedurally.

-It was suggested that the Commission members could make a recommendation, not
necessarily a vote on the item, but a recommendation as to what the Commission members
would like to see at a future meeting.

-Commission members expressed support for the revised design of the roundabout that was
symmetrical, including changes to the curbing, and recommended that a landscaped area be
provided in between the curbs instead of pavers and this area could be grass or groundcover,
and that the new curbs should transition into the existing curbs.

4.b. Public Comments
There were no public comments.

5. Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 pm.
tğŭĻ Ў ƚŅ Ў
