<br /> <br />Historic Preservation Commission <br />June 19, 2014 Meeting Minutes <br />(approved 8-21-14) <br /> <br />The Historic Preservation Commission held a meeting in the Heman Park Community Center located at <br />975 Pennsylvania Avenue, University City, Missouri on Thursday, June 19, 2014. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes from the two previous meetings, April 17, 2014 and May 1, 2014, were approved. <br /> <br />2. Old Business None <br /> <br />3. New Business <br /> <br /> 3.a. Review of Department of Public Works and Parks staff recommendation regarding <br /> permanent closure of Trinity Avenue on both sides of Delmar Boulevard, just west of <br /> roundabout, in the Civic Complex Historic District (Local Designation and National <br /> Register of Historic Places) <br /> <br />Mr. Greatens provided a summary of the staff memo. He noted that at the May 1 meeting, the <br />HPC recommended approval of the layout presented for the permanent roundabout and that the <br />HPC role pertained to compatibility within the Civic Complex Historic District. <br /> <br />Mr. Rich Wilson, Director of Public Works and Parks, explained the proposal and background <br />information. He stated that the design approved by the HPC on May 1 still shows Trinity as <br />open and that no changes would be made until a final decision from City Council regarding <br />Trinity Avenue. He explained the three options for the western intersection of Trinity Avenue <br />and Delmar Boulevard that were presented to Traffic Commission in November of 2013 about <br />opening the intersection or closing it. Mr. Wilson also explained some of the safety concerns <br />associated with opening Trinity Avenue and provided a handout with the pros and cons of each <br />option. It was noted that the Traffic Commission voted to approve what was called Option B, <br />tğŭĻ Њ ƚŅ Ќ <br /> <br />
