Session 1779 <br />April 3, 2000 <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved the appointment of Mr. Scott Rimell, with AT&T Services - 7330 Olive <br />Street Road to the Committee for Access and Local Origination Programming (CALOP). <br />This appointment fulfills the requirement for a technical expert on the committee. His term <br />expires on September 09, 2002. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR (1 ITEM): <br /> <br />#1 - Tennis Court Resurfacin~: Invitations to Bid were sent to five construction companies <br />for proposals to resurface four tennis courts at Flynn and Fogerty Parks. $14,000 was set <br />aside in the budget for this project. The following bid was received: <br /> <br />McCon nell & Associates ................. $13, 190. O0 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding this project to McConnell & Associates for their bid <br />of $13,190.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - PUBLIC HEARING - VACATING BIRCHMONT/WAYNE WALKWAY: <br /> <br />In response to a petition signed by residents of this neighborhood, a public hearing has <br />been scheduled for this time and place to hear comments on the proposal to vacate this <br />unimproved walkway. The neighbors say there is not a high level of public need for this <br />walkway thus the Council may wish to request preparation of a bill to carry out this <br />vacating. All were notified of this hearing as directed by City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the public hearing opened at 7:36 p.m., being that there were no <br />requests to speak, Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Schoomer and Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff reported that he had not <br />heard any response from any of the adjacent property owners stating their willingness to <br />assume responsibility for this property. He suggested that Gregory Rose, Assistant City <br />Manager, come up and report the neighborhood's feelings as he perceived them from his <br />attendance at their neighborhood meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
