<br />Mr. Miller asked about the potential for a youth member to serve on the Plan Commission <br />without voting rights as stated in the Plan Commission By-Laws. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert stated it was a good idea and the City Council has a position for a high school <br />student in a non-voting role, but it has been vacant for eight years and had been inconsistent in <br />the past. Mr. Glickert stated he would discuss the matter with the City Manager. <br /> <br />8. Reports <br /> <br />8.a. Code Review Committee Report <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated the Code Review Committee members should anticipate a future meeting for <br />staff to present a Text Amendment regarding outdoor dining and portable signs. The proposal <br />was to be presented to the Loop Special Business District for feedback prior to scheduling a <br />Code Review Committee meeting. <br /> <br />8.b. Comprehensive Plan Committee Report <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that the planning consultants are in town from Chicago and had been conducting <br />key person interviews with certain individuals and groups within the community as well as <br />conducting field work. <br /> <br />Mr. Dan Gardner and Mr. Drew Awsumb with Houseal Lavigne Associates, the Planning <br />Consultants were present to provide an update. Mr. Gardner stated that since the May Kick-Off <br />Workshops and meeting with the CPAC, they had been interviewing key people, recommended <br />by the CPAC, along with conducting field work and to prepare the Existing Conditions Report. <br />A CPAC meeting would be held in fall to present the Existing Conditions Report. Added <br />Dimension, the public outreach consultant, was also working separately on additional <br />community outreach. He added that the project website was up and running including <br />questionnaires and a mapping tool as additional ways for involvement. The existing conditions <br />analysis was a starting point for the creation of the Plan to help create the goals and objectives <br />of the Plan. <br /> <br />8.c. Council Liaison Report <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert stated that a letter was received last week from a developer that would be pursuing <br />a targeted area north of Olive in the northeast part of University City for development of single <br />family dwellings and townhomes. <br /> <br />8.d. Department Report <br /> <br />Mr. Lai stated that the proposed restaurant, Publico, the Conditional Use Permit previously <br />recommended for approval by the Plan Commission, had been approved by City Council. A <br />minor subdivision at 7918-7920 Delmar Boulevard had its first reading at the last City Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />9.
