<br /> <br />Historic Preservation Commission <br />September 18, 2014 Meeting Minutes <br />(approved 10-16-2014) <br /> <br />The Historic Preservation Commission held a meeting in the Heman Park Community Center located at <br />975 Pennsylvania Avenue, University City, Missouri on Thursday, September 18, 2014. The meeting <br />commenced at 7:00 pm. <br /> <br />1. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />2.a. August 21, 2014 Historic Preservation Commission meeting minutes <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Guest to approve the August 21, 2014 meeting minutes as written. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Old Business None <br /> <br />4. New Business <br /> <br />4.a. Design Review for proposed permanent roundabout at the intersection of Delmar Boulevard <br />and Trinity Avenue in the University City Civic Complex Historic District (Local Designation and <br />National Register of Historic Places) VOTE REQUESTED <br /> <br />Mr. Greatens provided a brief overview of maps and pictures of the site and summarized the <br />Civic Complex Historic District Standards. At their May 1, 2014 meeting, the Historic <br />Preservation Commission (HPC) members made a recommendation to approve the design of the <br />roundabout. At that time, the portion of Trinity Avenue to the west of the roundabout was not <br />included in the discussion. At the August 11, 2014 City Council meeting, Council voted to <br />permanently close Trinity Avenue at that location. He stated that the material distributed <br />included the proposed closure design as well as the design approved by HPC in May, which <br />remained the same. <br /> <br />Mr. Rich Wilson, Director of Public Works and Parks, explained further details of the proposed <br />closure at Trinity Avenue. After official approval of the closure by Council, Public Works staff <br />coordinated with the project engineer for a design that would properly close Trinity Avenue and <br />tğŭĻ Њ ƚŅ Ћ <br /> <br />
