meet the Historic District requirements. The design would continue with sidewalks on either
side of Delmar to allow pedestrians to continue straight at these locations. The sidewalks would
be at grade with existing ramps removed and grass in between the sidewalk and street continuing
to the landscape islands. There would also be new granite curbs to match the existing. Three
signs were also proposed that would be five feet in height at the dead ends of Trinity Avenue
with reflectors on them to indicate a dead end to drivers. There would be a steel plate across the
sidewalk over a tunnel cut out from the sidewalk for storm water drainage. Both sides of Delmar
would have the same layout.

Questions, Comments, and Discussion:

-Commission members asked about stormwater drainage and the location of the proposed steel
plates over the sidewalks and location of catch basins. Mr. Wilson pointed out that the location
of these plates could change slightly, once the survey with elevations is completed, in order to
address storm water runoff in the most efficient way possible.

-Commission members also inquired about the proposed reflective signs and expressed concern
about the lack of compatibility within the Historic District if they were to be permanently
installed. Other options were discussed, including the option of planters with the reflector
attached. It was suggested that something more appropriate be used instead of the signs. Mr.
Wilson confirmed that they would pursue something more fitting with the District, such as
planters.

Mr. Hamilton made a motion to approve the plan as presented, with the condition that the
proposed reflective signs could only be in place only for a period of six months after the project
was completed with further review of more permanent closure at that point. The motion was
seconded by Mr. Chilton and carried unanimously.

5. Other Business

5.a.
