Session 1788
July 10, 2000

Mr. Schoomer believes this is a wonderful idea and will make the City much more
responsive.

Mr. Munkel agrees and stated that approving a public hearing did tend to add one more
stumbling block to delay the process.

Mr. Ollendorff stated that this rule amendment would in no way take the public's right to
know about a public hearing away from them. The public hearing would still require
advertisement and notification of the neighbors. This change would only save the applicant
a couple of weeks.

The motion carried unanimously.

CITIZEN COMMENTS:

Versia Cross, 6847 Raymond and president of the Melrose/Roberts/Raymond
neighborhood association stated that the trash truck came by and left more trash than they
picked up and some neighbors had to clean it up, because the Sanitation department never
sent anyone back out there to clean it up. They are proud of their homes and they want
their area to be clean. There is no excuse for the trash employees to be in such a hurry
that they can not clean up the trash off of the ground if they drop it.

Mayor Adams agrees that this is becoming a problem and asked Mr. Ollendorff to check
into it.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL NO. 8476 - VACATING AND SURRENDERING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF
ESSEN AVENUE IN NORTHMOOR SUBDIVISION, BUT RESERVING ANY
PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENTS, AND DIRECTING THAT THIS BE RECORDED
IN THE OFFICE OF THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY,
MISSOURI.

The bill was given its second reading.
The bill was given its third reading.

Mr. Munkel moved adoption. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion. AYES: Ms.
Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Schoomer, Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill
No. 8476 was approved unanimously and became Ordinance No. 6255.

8
