Session 1786 <br />June 5, 2000 <br /> <br />#2 Summer Concerts Beer License: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval of a picnic beer <br />license permitting the Arts & Letters Commission to provide refreshments on the same basis <br />as last year, on Monday evenings from July 10 through August 28 at Heman Park. No <br />unusual problems occurred last year, and all City ordinance requirements have been met. <br /> <br />#3 - Playground Equipment for Heman Park: Invitations to Bid were issued for subject <br />equipment. The estimate for the requirement was $35,000. $17,000 will be covered by a <br />grant and the remainder of the balance which was not budgeted will require a transfer. <br />The following bids were received: <br /> <br />Roger J. Hutchinson ............. $33,140.00 <br />Fry & Associates ................ $28,200.00 <br /> <br />The Parks Department reviewed the bids and determined that the bid from Fry did not <br />meet their specifications. Therefore Mr. Ollendorff recommends the award be made to <br />Roger J. Hutchinson for $33,140.00. <br /> <br />#4 - Asphalt Improvement at Various Locations: The tabulation of bid proposals for the <br />above named project are as follows: <br /> <br />Southard Construction Co., Inc .................... $316,123.90 <br />County Asphalt Co., Inc ......................... $330,975.98 <br />Sunrise Asphalt Co., Inc ......................... $343,525.80 <br />Byrne & Jones Construction ...................... $351,687.60 <br />Leritz Contracting Inc ........................... $385,634.18 <br /> <br />Engineers' Estimate ............................ $361,441.70 <br /> <br />Funding for this project is from General Revenue Funds fiscal year 2000-2001. Mr. <br />Ollendorff recommends that this project be awarded to Southard Construction Co., Inc. for <br />their low bid of $316,123.90. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved adoption of the consent calendar. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, <br />which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - ZONING TEXT: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been set for 7:30 p.m. this date and place to consider comments on <br />zoning code definitions of short-term loan establishments. The text does not include them <br />in any zoning district, thus excluding them from all. Following the public hearing the City <br />Council may proceed to approve or reject the amending ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
