a ,,��ss__ '° A - I� 7 BILL )FO. 1241 INAB 1155 AN ORDINANCE CREATING TH IVIS ION OF GARBAGE IN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINT- MENT OP .A SUPERVISOR OF SANITATION; DF.I'.INING HIS POWERS, DUTIES AND COMPEASATION, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 967, APPROM"'THE ' 27th DAIr OF MAY, A.D. 1924., BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF% THE C ITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There shall be and there is hereby established a division of garbage in the Health Department of the City of > University City, which shell be administered and controlled by an inspector to be known as Supervisor of Sanitation, who shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the Board of Aldermen, and who shall work under orders of the Health Commissioner. Section 2. Said Supervisor of Sanitation shall reoeive as full compensation for his services the sum of One Hundred .anal Twenty-Five ($125.00) Dollars per month, payable at the end of each calendar month, and shall also furnish his own automobile , for which he shall be paid the sum of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per month. The said Supervisor of SanitaKon shall devote eight (8) hours per day, with the exception of Sundays and legal holidays, to the duties of his office. Section 30, It shall be the duty of the Supervisor of Sanitation to manage and supervise the collection of garbage and re u9e within the limits of the City of University City, and he shall collsot .spau, 'of said garbage in a water tight wagon boa with wood, `oanvas or other substantial sides and top, or a motor truck similarly constructed, so as to entirely obscure from viswr, while being oonweyed through the streets, all garbage , hotel and house offal, slaughter house offal, refuse, animal and vegetable matter,
