Session 1789
July 24, 2000

CITIZEN COMMENTS=

Versia Cross, 6847 Raymond and president of the Melrose/Roberts/Raymond
neighborhood association stated that the sidewalks and streets are worse than last year.
There is a huge hole in the sidewalk on Raymond and that a neighbor thought the water
company did it. A manhole is several inches lower than street level which they are running
into with their cars. The sidewalks are very uneven. There are many senior citizens in this
area and if they go out to walk, they are going to trip and fall. She said that some
neighbors have complained that when they set bags out by the refuse carts, the bags are
not being picked up. She said that many neighbors in her neighborhood are experiencing
home repairs that they just can not financially handle and she certainly would like to see a
program for emergency repairs as was recently asked for at a prior Council meeting.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL NO. 8481 - AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT
OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN
OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS
FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6210.

The bill was given its second reading.
The bill was given its third reading.

Mr. Wagner moved adoption.
