ARTICLE 911. PEDDLERS AND HA~.RIEP~. Section 911.1. License required. Section 911.2. Definitions. Section 911.3. License fees, regulations. Section 911.4. Penalty. Section 911.1. License required: It shall be unlawful for any person to carry on tke business of a peddler or hawker within the limits of the city without obtaining a license therefor. Section 911.2. Definitionsi Whoever shall deal in the selling of goods, wares or merchandise by going about from place to place to sell the same, is de- clared to be a "peddler" or "hawker.'~ Section 911.3. License fees, regulations: There shall be levied and collected from every person carrying on the business of a peddler or hawker, who carries the goods he offers for sale on foot or in push cart or in motor vehicle, an annual license fee of twenty-five dollars. Every such license shall show the place of residence of such peddler or hawker, and sucL peddler or hawker shall have his name and the number of his license painted conspicuously on both sides of his cart or motor vehicle, and shall carry such license with him and exhibit the same whenever required by any police or other officer authorized to make arrests. Any motor versicle peddler duly licensed under this article may have one driver to assist l~im, but no other assistants, while engaged in peddling or hawking, and only one person skall engage in peddling or hawking as foot peddler or with push cart under any license issued in pursuance of this article. No license shall be assign- able or transferable. Section 911.4. Penalty: Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding the sum of five hundred dollars for each such violation.
