Session 1791 <br />August 21, 2000 <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8490 - AMENDING CHAPTER 8.12 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO GARBAGE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 8.12.200 THEREOF, RELATING TO THE SCHEDULE OF REFUSE <br />COLLECTION CHARGES, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN <br />AS "SECTION 8.12.200 SCHEDULE OF REFUSE COLLECTION CHARGES," <br />AMENDING SECTION TO GENERALLY INCREASE MONTHLY REFUSE RATES <br />EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2000, AND MAKE VARIOUS RATE SCHEDULE <br />CHANGES BASED ON THE LEVEL OF USE OF CITY REFUSE SERVICES; <br />CONTAINING SAVING, SEVERABILITY AND EMERGENCY CLAUSES, AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned number 8490. <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. AYES: Mr. Munkel, Mr. <br />Lieberman, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. Colquitt, Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill No. 8490 was <br />approved unanimously and became Ordinance No. 6266. <br /> <br />3. A bill was introduced jointly by Ms. Colquitt and Mr. Sharpe, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, ON BEHALF OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE MISSOURI HIGHWAYS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION WHICH <br />PROVIDES THAT THE CITY SHALL RECEIVE GRANT FUNDS FOR THE <br />COSTS TO REPLACE A BRIDGE ON 82ND BLVD. 300 FEET NORTH OF OLIVE <br />BLVD. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned number 8491. <br /> <br />MISCELLANEOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt announced that the second annual Go-Kart Race and City-Wide Picnic would <br />be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Canton and Mendell. The picnic will follow the race <br />at 12:30 at Heman Park with a galore of entertainment acts. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel wished to commend the City staff for the quick work in clearing streets of <br />branches and limbs, particularly on Pershing and Delmar. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
