INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER BILL NO. 7591 ORDINANCE NO. 5388 AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1983-84, TO PROVIDE FOR THE GENERAL REVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF t INTEREST AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A DEBT SERVICE FUND FOR ALL OUTSTANDING BONDS OF THE CITY, AND TO PROVIDE FOR A POLICE AND FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUND. E BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, i AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other property subject to taxation in the City of University City, Missouri, for general revenue purposes of said City for the fiscal year 1983-84 a tax of ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) on each ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation. Section 2. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other property subject to taxation in the City of University City, Missouri, a special tax at the rate of FORTY CENTS ($.40) on each ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation for the fiscal year 1983-84 to provide for the establishment and maintenance of a free public library and reading room in said City, author- ,f ized by vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election heretofore held, in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri, and the e ordinance pertaining thereto. Section 3. There is hereby levied upon all real, personal and other property subject to taxation in the City of University City for the fiscal year 1983-84, a special tax at the rate of FORTY-THREE CENTS ($.43) per ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) of assessed valuation, to provide for the payment of interest t and the establishment of a Debt Service fund for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of TWO MILLION SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS j K ($2,650,000.00) of municipal bonds of the City authorized by a vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election called and held on the 2nd f day of April, 1963, said election being in pursuance of the provisions of { Ordinance No.3949; for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of ONE MILLION DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00) of municipal bonds of the City authorize by a vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election called and held t on the 5th day of April, 1966, said election being in pursuance of the provisions of Ordinance No. 4204; for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of NINE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($950,000.00) of the City authorized by a vote of the qualified voters of said City at a special election called and held on the 7th day of June, 1966, said election being in pursuance of the provisions of Ordinance No. 4211; for all issued and outstanding bonds of an authorized issue of TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($275,000.00)
