Renaissance I Redevelopment Corporation, hereafter called <br /> "Redeveloper" and its contractors will include a clause <br /> requiring compliance with all equal opportunity and <br /> non-discrimination laws and regulations and all guidelines s <br /> outlined herein in every contract for work in connection with <br /> this project. <br /> 2. Redeveloper and its contractors will not contract or <br /> subcontract with any party known to have been found in <br /> s <br /> violation of those laws and regulations. <br /> 3 <br /> 3. Redeveloper shall solicit and fairly consider bona fide <br /> minority contractors and material suppliers for contracts and <br /> subcontracts and purchase orders under contracts let by the <br /> Redeveloper. Redeveloper will require its general contractor <br /> and subcontractors to contact minority subcontractors and <br /> material suppliers for this Project. Redeveloper, contractors <br /> and subcontractors shall have the absolute right to reject any <br /> bidder who is unqualified or less qualified or who is not the <br /> low bidder. A minority contractor or material supplier formed <br /> for the express purpose of bidding pursuant to these guidelines j <br /> or with the intent of subcontracting substantially all of the <br /> work bid shall not constitute a bona fide, qualified <br /> contractor, subcontractor or material supplier. <br /> 4. Redeveloper will set a goal of fifteen percent (15%) minority <br /> participation under these guidelines. In the event Redeveloper <br /> fails to attain that goal , Redeveloper may be required to show <br /> good cause. <br /> 5. The term minority contractor or minority material supplier <br /> shall mean a business enterprise at least fifty-one percent <br /> (51x) of the ownership of which is held by members of <br /> minorities. <br /> The term "members of a minority" or -minority" means: Black <br /> American, Native American. Hispanic American with origin from <br /> Central or South America. Mexico, and Carribean, and the Asian <br /> American, women and other protected classes. <br /> Redeveloper agrees for itself and its successors or assigns, <br /> that there shall be covenants to insure that there shall be no <br /> discrimination on the part of Redeveloper, its successors and <br /> assigns upon the basis of race, color, religion, national <br /> origin, sex, marital status, age or physical handicap in the <br /> sale, lease or rental of any_ property, or improvements erected <br /> or--to be erected, in the Project or any part thereof, and these <br /> covenants shall run with the land, remain in effect without <br /> � 5 l <br />
