INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER MAJERUS <br /> BILL N0. 7677 ORDINANCE NO. 5473 <br /> AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF THE IMPROVE- <br /> MENT OF TRENTON AVENUE, A PUBLIC STREET IN THE CITY OF <br /> UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, EXTENDING FROM HARRISON AVENUE <br /> TO LAMB AVENUE, DESIGNATED AS PROJECT NO. 771, AND PAYING <br /> THEREFOR PARTIALLY BY LEVYING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OR TAX <br /> AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY IN THE NAME OR NAMES OF THE <br /> OWNER OR OWNERS THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF <br /> SPECIAL TAX BILLS THEREFOR, AND PARTIALLY IN CASH BY THE <br /> CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, OUT OF AVAILABLE CITY <br /> FUNDS, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROPERLY ADVERTISED <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE COUNCIL OF SAID CITY ON THE NINTH <br /> DAY OF APRIL, 1984, AND UNDER PROVISIONS OF GRDINANCE NO <br /> 5430, PASSED THE TWENTY FIRST DAY OF MAY, 1984, AND THE <br /> CONTRACT ENTERED INTO PURSUANT THERETO AND THE COUNCIL <br /> FOUND AND DECLARED IT NECESSARY THAT THE IMPROVEMENT BE <br /> MADE. <br /> x <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of University City, Missouri, did <br /> adopt a resolution on the 9th day of April, 1984, for the work of improving <br /> Trenton Avenue extending from Harrison Avenue to Lamb Avenue a distance of <br /> approximately Six Hundred Fifty (650) feet, in the City of University City, <br /> Missouri, and setting forth the estimated "Whole Cost" thereof, which cost <br /> included the expenses estimated to be incurred by the City for surveys, plans, <br /> supervision, engineering services and all other City expenses necessary to <br /> complete the work satisfactorily; said "Whole Cost" to be paid for partially <br /> by a special assessment or tax against the abutting property in the name or <br /> names of the owner or owners thereof within the limits of the benefit district <br /> fi <br /> and partially in cash by the City of University City, Missouri, out of <br /> available City funds; that the said special tax bills evidencing such assess- <br /> went be issued to the contractor in pavment for the tax bill portion of said <br /> work, and fixing a date for public hearing thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, notice of said public hearing was published in the St. <br /> Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation published in St. Louis <br /> County, Missouri, on the 14th day of. April, 1984, providing that said public <br /> hearing be held on the 23rd day of April, 1984; and <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly held on the 23rd day of April, <br /> 1984, and all suggestions or objections concerning said improvement were duly <br /> heard and considered by the Council and the Council thereafter directed the <br /> City Manager to cause plans, specifications and detailed estimates of cost for <br /> the proposed improvement to be prepared and submitted to the City Council for <br /> approval; and <br />
