Specifi- <br /> cally excluded are automobile filling and service stations <br /> and carryout and drive-in restaurants. <br /> Decibel - A unit of measurement of the intensity of sound. <br /> Density - The number of dwelling units that may be con- <br /> structed per acre or per square feet of a zoning lot area. <br /> Detached Single-family Dwelling - A building containing only <br /> e <br /> one dwelling unit and ntirely surrounded by yards or other <br /> separation from other buildings or adjacent lots. <br /> Development Standard - Regulations which limit the size, bulk <br /> or siting conditions of discrete types of residential build- <br /> ings located within. any designated use district. <br /> Drive-in Restaurant - An establishment which offers or sells <br /> beverages and food directly to consumers in parked motor <br /> vehicles for consumption on the premises. <br /> Dwelling - A structure or portion thereof used exclusively <br /> for residential purposes. <br /> Dwelling Unit - One (1) or more rooms designed for use as a <br /> single housekeeping unit to be occupied by one (1) family for <br /> living purposes and having permanently installed sanitary and <br /> cooking facilities .within the dwelling unit. <br /> Elevator Apartments - An apartment building of more than <br /> three (3) stories in height, with primary access to units <br /> above the third floor level typically provided by means of an <br /> elevator. <br /> Family - An individual or married couple and/or the children <br /> thereof and no more than two (2) other persons related <br /> directly to the individual or married couple by blood or <br /> marriage, or a group of not more than three (3) persons <br /> living together in a dwelling unit as a single housekeeping <br /> unit. <br /> Family Day Care Home - A single family residence in which <br /> family-like care is provided for four (4) children or less, <br /> away from their own homes, for compensation or otherwise, for <br /> any part of the twenty-four (24) hour day. <br /> 3 <br />
