Attached Single-family Dwelling - One (1) of a series of <br /> attached dwelling units located on individual subdivided lots <br /> of record. <br /> Automobile Filling Station - A use solely for the retail sale <br /> and dispensing of gasoline, oil, air and water. <br /> Automobile Repair - See motor vehicle repair. <br /> Automobile Service Station - A use primarily for supplying <br /> gasoline, _oil, air and water, tires,. accessories and services <br /> for motor vehicles at direct retail to the consumer,including <br /> the incidental washing of motor vehicles and the making of <br /> minor repairs, but not including such major repairs as: <br /> Spray painting, body, fender, clutch, transmission, differ- <br /> ential, axle, spring and frame repairs; major overhauling of <br /> engines or radiators requiring removal thereof; or recapping G <br /> or retreading of tires. <br /> Block Frontage - All the property abutting on one (1) side of <br /> a street between two (2) intersecting or intercepting streets <br /> or, if the street be dead end, then all property abutting on <br /> one (1) side between an intersecting or intercepting street <br /> and the dead end of the street. In the case of dead end <br /> streets less than two hundred. and fifty (250) feet in length <br /> and terminating in an open circular turnaround space, both <br /> sides of the street shall be considered to be in the same <br /> block frontage. <br /> Building - A building is a structure intended for shelter. <br /> Building Coverage (Lot Coverage) - That percentage of a lot <br /> which, when viewed from above, would be covered by a <br /> f <br /> structure or structures or any part thereof, excluding roof <br /> eaves. <br /> Building Height - The vertical distance measured from the <br /> curb grade or its equivalent established grade at a point <br /> midway between the two (2) side lot lines to the highest <br /> point of the roof in the case of a flat roof;to the deck line <br /> of a mansard roof; and to the mean height level between eaves <br /> and ridge of a gable, hip or gambrel roof; provided, that <br /> where buildings are set back from street line, the height of <br /> the building may be measured from the average elevation of <br /> the finished lot grade at the front of the building. <br /> Building Line - A line parallel to the front lot line and <br /> passing through the nearest point of the principal building. <br /> Building Permit - A permit issued by the Building Commissioner <br /> prior to any construction. <br /> Car Wash - A structure or portion thereof, containing facili- <br /> ties for washing motor vehicles, such as a chain conveyor, <br /> blower, steam cleaning device or other mechanical device. <br /> Carry-out Restaurant - An establishment which sells prepared <br /> beverages and/or food to the public principally for the <br /> consumption-off the premises, and which does not offer goods <br /> or services to consumers .waiting: in parked motor vehicles. <br /> Certificate of Non-residential Occupancy - cf. Use Certificate. <br /> Child Day Care Center, Nursery School or Day Care Nursery - <br /> A group program providing for the . care of five children or <br /> more away from their own homes for any part of the twenty- <br /> four (24) hour day, for compensation or otherwise, supple- <br /> menting parental responsibility for the child' s protection, <br /> development and supervision. <br /> 2 <br />
