INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER LEVY BILL NO. 7701 ORDINANCE NO. 5497 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY RELATING TO ZONING BY REPEALING SECTION 34-26.2 RELATING TO OCCUPANCY BY MORE THAN ONE FAMILY, ENACTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4631 DATED APRIL 191, 1971, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-26.2 OCCUPANCY BY MORE THAN ONE FAMILY," BY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ALLOW DOMESTIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES TO OCCUPY SAID DWELLING UNIT; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City [University City Zoning Code] divides the City into several zoning districts, and regulates the character of buildings which may be erected in each 4 i of said districts, and the uses to which the buildings and premises located therein may be put; and WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission at its meeting of June 26, 1985, reviewed Section 34-26.2 Occupancy By More Than One Family, and recommended its repeal and the enactment of a new Section 34-26.2 as hereinafter set forth; and F t WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City Council in the Council Chamber at the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. on the 19th day of August, 1985, was duly published in the St. Louis Countian, a newspaper of general circulation within said City; and WHEREAS, said public hearing was duly held and the matter was thoroughly discussed at said meeting. , i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY I R CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City relating to Zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-26.2, as enacted by Ordinance No. 4631 relating to occupancy by more than one family, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as, "Section 34-26.2 Occupancy By More Than One Family," relating to the same subject, and re- enacting said section so that said section, as so amended shall read as follows: 34-26.2 Occupancy By More Than One Family No dwelling unit shall be occupied by more than a single family and any salaried employees who regularly work on the premises in domestic service occupations as that term is defined in the Directory of Occupational Titles published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
